The words we speak

What we speak is a very important tool in shaping our lives. In my recent post, You are what you think! we saw how what we think can go from thinking in the mind to words from our mouth and finally to what we do, our actions. So we can see how important our words are. The words we speak also determine what plays out in our lives; whatever you speak, that is what you will have.
Most times we become so comfortable with speaking words that have no value, vulgar words and words full of negativity. These words have become so normal to so many people that they can't even do without them. These kind of words can never build or help anyone, rather they bring you down.

James chapter 3:9-12
9 With our tongues we bless our God and Father, with it we curse men who have been made in the image of God.
10 Out of the same mouth proceeds blessing and cursing. My brethren, these things ought not to be so.
11 Does a spring send forth fresh and salt water from the same opening?
12 Can a fig tree bear Olives, or a grapevine bear figs? Thus no spring yields both salt water and fresh water.

With the above passage we can see how powerful the tongue is and how important everything we speak from it is.

The words we speak to people can either build them or bring them down. Cursing people brings a lot of damages to their lives. The words you've spoken to someone has a direct effect in that person's life, whether positively or negatively, depending on what you've spoken.
Most times, people may not show you how they feel about the words you've used on them, but when they leave you, they begin to ponder on those words and eventually those words will begin to bear fruits in their heart. And they begin to act according to those words.
Some people go into depression due to the words used on them by people.

Why not bless someone instead of cursing, why not speak good of yourself instead of saying bad things about yourself.

Parents, bless your children, don't curse them. They are only children and whatever you say speaks into their future. The good things you speak to them contributes to their brighter future.

Choose your words wisely, they define who you are. Are you trying to change from being a bad person to becoming a good person? Here's what you should do; Speak good things frequently and speak bad things no more, your life will turn from bad to good eventually.

Most times, people believe what other people tell them more, than what they tell themselves. So become a blessing to someone today by saying good things to them, become that source of inspiration that people are searching for.

Speak good things to yourself and to people around you.
Always know that people depend on your words when you say valuable things.

Bless someone today!!!
